Development Governance - eXtendCode Client Interaction Framework (ECIF) @ eXtendCode |
In order to maximize the Return on Investment (ROI) on its assets and protect its market differentiation, companies are focusing on core processes and increasingly relying upon outsourced vendors to provide non-core processes. The outsourcing model makes economical sense for all the participating entities (i.e. companies and outsourcing vendors). The key factor to make outsourcing model successful is to develop explicit interaction processes between company and vendor in such a manner that vendor managed processes (e.g. offshore software development) become part of company’s business network with clearly defined Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and metrics, which allows companies to have a clear line of sight into offshore development.
eXtendCode Client Interaction Framework (ECIF) is specifically designed to cater to outsource and offshore requirements. ECIF works in tandem with our eXtendCode Offshore Development Methodology (EODM). ECIF provides client interface to EODM. EODM is our internal development methodology, which we use to manage software projects. ECIF is exposing different levels of project related information (e.g. current status, milestones, issues) to relevant clients using web interface (i.e. Client Portal).
ECIF provides a consistent channel with project related relevant information. All the project related information is available from one central place. Clients can quickly find all the relevant information to take appropriate actions (e.g. prepare a report, escalate issues). At the same time, clients can measure the performance of offshore development team by reviewing reports for the established metrics. As all the actionable information is published at regular intervals, it provides a channel to both client and eXtendCode to take proactive steps if required.
Information Security:
Client project related information is persisted in backend databases in encrypted form. A client can access information only for its own projects.
